Czech Industrial Output Falls In October

Industrial output in the Czech Republic dropped 7.3% in October from a year earlier, the Czech Statistical Office said in a preliminary report Monday. Economists expected a 8% drop. On a working day adjusted basis, industrial output slipped 5% on a yearly basis in October.

During the month, sales from industrial activity fell 11.6%, and export sales decreased 7.9%. Further, new orders declined 11.3%, with non-domestic new orders falling 4.9%. Registered employment in the industrial sector dipped 12.4%, but wages grew 3.5%.
